Mother kills intruder found in child's bedroom, police say

PORTLAND, Ore. -- An Oregon mother may not face charges after shooting and killing a stranger in her child's bedroom.

An autopsy is scheduled for the 59-year-old man the woman killed.

The mother found him in her child's bedroom.

The 33-year-old and her children -- ages 5 and 10 -- arrived home in the early hours of Sunday morning.

She says the man was already in her home when they arrived.

Portland police haven't yet determined if she acted in self-defense, but say she is cooperating, KOIN-TV reports.
