Mount Baldy will remain closed for summer

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WLS) -- Mount Baldy, the popular Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore attraction, will remain closed for the entire summer.

This is the second summer that Mount Baldy will be closed.

Authorities are still trying to determine what caused a 6-year-old boy to become trapped under 11 feet of sand in 2013. The boy has since suffered from his injuries.

However, national park service experts are waiting to get a report from scientists who are studying Mount Baldy after they discovered 8 holes in the sand.
