Mundelein girl, 15, sentenced for sister's murder

MUNDELEIN, Ill. (WLS) -- A 15-year-old girl from Mundelein who pleaded guilty to stabbing her 11-year-old sister has been sentenced to be confined in the Juvenile Department of Corrections until her 21st birthday, according to the Lake County State's Attorney.

The girl was 14 when she stabbed her half-sister, saying she felt unappreciated by her younger sister.

The girl could be eligible for supervised release after five years, but the state's attorney said that is not likely.
