CHICAGO (WLS) -- A South Side home with a connection to a brutal murder case has gone up in flames.

The fire started early Wednesday in the Chatham neighborhood on South Gilberts Court. The house was home to Richard Lyons, who's now in prison.

Early this year he was convicted of killing his 9-year-old daughter Mya in 2008 and leaving the body in a nearby alley. Lyons wasn't arrested until three years ago.

Neighbors say the family had just moved out due to an eviction.
