NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- The Naperville city council is one step closer to deciding whether or not to close bars earlier.

Council members discussed the issue at Tuesday night's meeting, but plan on waiting two weeks to consider it.

The city is looking at new regulations to curb excessive drinking and rowdy downtown partying.

Possible changes include smaller serving sizes, higher fees for late night permits and new regulations to stop people from entering bars an hour before closing.
