New hospital delivers first baby 2 minutes after opening

HUNTLEY, Ill. (WLS) -- A new hospital in the suburbs officially opened at 7 a.m. Tuesday, and the first baby was born there two minutes later.

The staff at Centegra Hospital Huntley was lining up to take photos when Heather and Shane Doty arrived.

Several people rushed into the hospital to help.

In addition to the Family Birth Center, the hospital also includes a Level 2 Trauma Center and intensive care unit beds.
