Newsviews: Center for Companies that Care
Non-profit Centers for Companies that Care is trying to get businesses more involved in their communities.

May 4, 2014 (WLS) -- U.S. public high schools have achieved a milestone - 80 percent of students are graduating, according to numbers collected by the U.S. Department of Education.

While these are encouraging figures, that still means that one in five students leaves high school without a diploma.

So what can be done to help keep students in class? Here in Chicago, a non-profit called the Center for Companies that Care is trying to get businesses more involved in their communities. Part of that is having employees mentor high school students.

Our guests this week are Marci Koblenz, founder and president of the Center for Companies that Care, and Gary Jefferson, a mentor from Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
