Newsviews: Employment in underserved city neighborhoods

CHICAGO (WLS) -- When we talk about crime and poverty in Chicago, we often hear about the need for more jobs in the city's struggling neighborhoods.

There are organizations out there trying to help create jobs and provide people with marketable skills. Among them is the North Lawndale Employment Network, which does a lot of work with ex-offenders, and i.c. stars, an organization that provides young adults with technology training.

Joining us this week on Newsviews to talk more about these organizations, the work they do and the impact it has on Chicago neighborhoods are Mark Sanders, director of re-entry policy and advocacy programs for the North Lawndale Employment Network, and Sandee Kastrul, the president and co-founder of i.c. stars.
