CHICAGO (WLS) -- There is an effort underway to establish a national park in the city's Pullman neighborhood, a place that played a big role in U.S. labor history and the history of African Americans.

In Pullman, a company town was built around the Pullman factory that made railroad sleeping cars. The African American men who worked on them were the Pullman porters.

With the help of labor organizer A. Philip Randolph, they went on to form the first black union.

U.S. congresswoman Robin Kelly and Lynn McClure with the National Parks Conservation Association will discuss where things stand and the potential benefits of having a national park right here in the city.
