CHICAGO (WLS) -- The IRS began accepting tax returns this week.

The Better Business Bureau in Chicago ranked one particular tax scam as the biggest tax scam of 2015. And the state of Illinois will not issue refunds until March 1 because it's expected to take longer to process paperwork - in an effort to prevent fraud and identity theft.

Joining us on Newsviews this week to talk about that and more are Louis Sands, a CPA with Plante Moran, and John Lucki, a certified fraud examiner, professor at St. Xavier and former Chicago Police officer in the Financial Crimes unit. We talked about the types of scams that are out there, what's being done to protect taxpayers and what you should know before you file.
