CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago police officer testified Tuesday that the man accused of killing Police Officer Thor Soderberg also shot at her that day.

Lynn Casey, now retired, was seen in a video ducking for cover as alleged cop killer Bryant Brewer opened fire five years ago. Brewer had just shot Officer Soderberg when Casey, who was on desk duty at the Englewood police station, heard what she thought were fireworks and saw the wounded Brewer.

He was shirtless and covered in blood, Casey said. She said she thought he was a victim and offered him help. He raised his right arm and fired several bullets at her, Casey said, with Officer Soderberg's service weapon.

Surveillance video shows Casey ducking for cover next to a squad car while being chased by Brewer. At one point, he told her, 'Shoot me,' Casey testified.

Brewer was eventually shot by another police officer.

Surveillance cameras showed the events leading up to and after the shooting, but not the shooting, itself. The video of the actual shooting "mysteriously disappeared," according to Brewer's defense attorneys, who say their client acted in self-defense.

Officer Soderberg was killed right before he was about to leave work to meet his wife at a volleyball game.
