HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A temporary outdoor water ban for several northern suburbs has been lifted, officials said.
The ban was in effect Monday for Highland Park, Lincolnshire, Deerfield, Bannockburn and the Glenbrook Sanitary District due to clogged strainers at a water treatment plant, officials said. The clog was due to increased sand influx in the raw water strainers.
The plant has obtained two spare screen filters to improve its ability to deal with clogs in the future, officials said.
