PARK FOREST, Ill. (WLS) -- A Park Forest police officer who was critically wounded in the line of duty has now been moved to a rehabilitation center.

Officer Tim Jones was shot three times in the jaw and neck on March 19 while responding to a break-in. He was released from Advocate Christ Medical Center and is now undergoing rehab.

Jones, 24, has been on the Park Forest Police Department for less than a year. He is the son of William Jones, the police chief in south suburban Country Club Hills.

The department said Jones has a long road to recovery and his long-term prognosis is uncertain.
