AURORA, Ill. (WLS) -- A 67-year-old Aurora man was struck and killed Friday night as he was crossing the street in Aurora, police said.

George Edwards was hit by a pick-up around 6:15 p.m. as he was crossing Farnsworth at the intersection with Marshall Boulevard, police said. The 1996 Chevrolet was driven by a 75-year-old Aurora woman.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Edwards was walking westbound when he was hit. He was taken to Presence Mercy Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:28 p.m.

Police said the pick-up truck driver displayed "no outward signs of alcohol or drug use." The driver was ticketed for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
