Photo released of man wanted in alleged attempted assault

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- Pictures were released Friday of a man wanted for an alleged attempted assault in a north suburban forest preserve.

Authorities in Lake County, Illinois have released surveillance photos of a person of interest in connection with an alleged attack on a woman on a forest preserve bike path near Libertyville on June 15.

They are trying to identify a man and a vehicle captured on surveillance cameras near the crime scene.

The woman was allegedly attacked near the Des Plaines River Trail and Route 176 underpass.

Ranger police with the Lake County Forest Preserve are asking witnesses to come forward with any information about this suspect.
