PHOTOS: Coyote injured jumping from 4th floor of Gary parking garage

GARY, Ind. (WLS) -- A young coyote is recovering after it jumped from the fourth floor of a Gary, Indiana, parking garage trying to escape capture.

The animal suffered a broken leg when it jumped Tuesday as police and animal control officers closed in.

A woman called 911 after spotting the coyote while parking her car.

Becky Bolton at Westchester Animal Clinic in porter says the coyote's right front leg is in a splint. And she's otherwise healthy.
