CHICAGO (WLS) -- One person is in custody after a barricade situation closed a section of Montrose Avenue for about four hours Tuesday morning, police said.

Police said two brothers got into a fight in the 4400-block of North Drake Avenue. One allegedly shot the other and then locked himself inside an apartment around 3 a.m.

Ana Reyes, who lives nearby, said she heard gunfire outside her home before police arrived.

"I heard some gunshots. But then again, it's kind of common around here and it's sad," Reyes said.

Officers surrounded the home and closed Montrose from Central Park to Kimball until around 7:05 a.m. CTA buses were rerouted during the standoff.

The man who barricaded himself inside the home was taken to the hospital.
