CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are investigating after several cars were shot up in the Lincoln Square neighborhood.

In a community alert issued Tuesday, police said seven vehicles were damaged by gunfire in three separate incidences over the last nine days.

In the most recent incident, police said two cars were hit by bullets on the 2600-block of W. Eastwood around 3:03 a.m. Monday.

Resident Lyle Sande shared photos of his bullet-riddled car with ABC7. He said he discovered the damage as he was leaving for work Monday morning.

"It's kind of scary because I like to sit in my car reading and I could have been in it!" Sande said.

According to police, four other vehicles were damaged in the 2500-block of W. Wilson sometime between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. on July 10. Another car was hit by bullets in the 2600-block of W. Sunnyside between 1:06 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. on July 13.

Police said they have no description of the shooter or shooters. Residents are being asked to call 911 to report any suspicious persons or activity in the area.
