CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are looking for three men who allegedly tried to kidnap a 16-year-old girl in the city's Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

The teen was walking east on West 63rd Street approaching South St. Louis Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when police said a white two-door pickup truck heading west stopped in the 3500-block of West 63rd Street.

Police said three men were inside the vehicle. One man got out when they stopped and attempted to force her inside the truck.

A nearby witness saw what was happening and spooked the offender. The girl was able to run to safety and the three men sped away.

Police describe the man who tried to force the 16-year-old into the pickup as a 40-year-old dark-skinned Hispanic man, 5' 8" and 180 lbs. with a medium build. He had short black hair, a round face, facial stubble and mustache. He was wearing a white polo, dark jeans and a thin, yellow, metal chain around his neck.

The white two-door truck was similar to a 2005 Toyota Sierra, according to police.
