CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson says officers have taken more than 2,800 guns off the streets since the start of the year.

They put some of those weapons on display Thursday at police headquarters. The city has collected a number of guns through buyback programs.

Chicago police said they recover more guns than any police department in the country.
