Chicago police officer injured by firework in bathroom in Albany Park

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago police officer was injured by a firework in a bathroom Monday morning in the Albany Park neighborhood.

A male officer went into the restroom in the 4600 block of North Pulaski and came into contact with a novelty firework at 5:50 a.m., Chicago police said.

The officer was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital in good condition. The bathroom was not damaged.
