ELMHURST, Ill. (WLS) -- Surveillance video shows a missing clerk left an Elmhurst convenience store with a man who took money out of the cash register during an overnight robbery.

Early Tuesday morning, the man entered the Shell Gas Station at 654 W. North Avenue, jumped over the counter and removed an undetermined amount of cash from the register, police said. The offender and the clerk, identified as Simone Boyd, 21, were then seen leaving the store a short time later.

Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding Boyd, who is described as 5' and 170 pounds with long black hair, possibly in a pony tail. She was last seen wearing a green short sleeve polo shirt and black pants.

Police were called for a well-being check when a customer tried to buy something at the store and the clerk was not there. The clerk has not been seen since.

Officials are investigating the case as a possible robbery. Anyone with information should call the Elmhurst Police Department at 630-530-3050.

The store was closed for several hours during the investigation.
