Police: Woman attacked on CTA Red Line train near Wilson
Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman, 55, on a CTA Red Line train in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are searching for a man who attacked a 55-year-old woman on a CTA Red Line train in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood.

A man armed with a knife allegedly sexually assaulted her on a train near the Wilson station in the 4600-block of North Broadway around 11 p.m. on June 16.

The woman took herself to a South Side hospital, police said. No one is in custody.

CTA riders said they are not shocked to hear about the attack. But it makes some think twice about taking the train late at night.

"This makes me more scared. I don't think I'm ever going to take a night class again. I'm afraid I'm going to be assaulted or something because I'm so very, very young," Ajoke Iromin said.

The incident is under investigation. CTA officials said they are cooperating with police.
