Police working to ID second suitcase body

The ABC7 I-Team uncovered new sordid details about the former police officer charged in connection with the deaths.

GENEVA, Wis. (WLS) -- In a story the ABC7 Eyewitness News I-Team is tracking, authorities in Cottage Grove, Oregon, are working with police in Geneva, Wisconsin to identify the second victim whose remains were found in a suitcase.

Former police officer Steven Zelich appeared in a Walworth County, Wisconsin court Friday where he was charged with hiding a corpse.

Zelich is being held on $1 million bond.

He is suspected of killing two women and hiding both of their bodies in suitcases.

Zelich's attorney says the deaths may have been accidental during consensual sex.
