CHICAGO (WLS) -- An 8-year-old refugee from Congo died after his flight landed at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport Tuesday afternoon.

Customs Border Patrol spokesman Ralph Piccirrilli says 8-year-old David Dieme arrived around 3 p.m. at on an Emirates flight from Dubai.

David was with his father and five siblings, who are refugees from Congo, Piccirrilli said. The family was processed by Customs and about to exit the airport when at the last checkpoint a Customs agent noticed the boy looking unwell, Piccirrilli said.

Paramedics were called, and the child was transported to Resurrection Hospital and pronounced dead, Piccirrilli said.

Autopsy results are pending.
