Police confirm Patrick Kane under investigation
Police confirmed Friday that Patrick Kane is under investigation for an alleged incident at his home in Hamburg, New York.

CHICAGO and HAMBURG, N.Y. (WLS) -- Patrick Kane, of the Chicago Blackhawks, is under investigation for an alleged incident at his New York home last weekend, Hamburg police confirm.

In a brief news conference, Hamburg Police Chief Gregory Wickett said Friday investigators are gathering evidence and waiting for forensic test results.

"The Town of Hamburg Police Department is investigating an incident that allegedly occurred at the residence of NHL player Patrick Kane last weekend. At this time, we are gathering information and awaiting forensic testing results," Chief Wickett said.

Chief Wickett did not release any details in regards to the allegations or timeline, but said he does not expect anyone to turn themselves in on Friday.

The Buffalo News reports that sources said a woman accused Kane of sexual assault. The woman met Kane at a nightclub in Buffalo and went to his lakefront home in Hamburg, according to the report, where she claims she was raped.

A rape kit was done at a local hospital, according to the report.

Kane has not been arrested or charged with any crime.

He lives in the $2.5 million lake house in New York during the off season. Kane's white SUV was seen parked at his parent's home in South Buffalo on Friday morning.

The Stanley Cup is in the Buffalo area Friday night with the Blackhawks senior advisor Scotty Bowman. This weekend, fans expected Kane to celebrate with the Cup at a private party at a Buffalo bar, but it's unclear if that will happen now.

It's also unclear where Kane is staying while police investigate. He has not been seen in public since the weekend.
