Round Lake man accused of child sex abuse

ROUND LAKE, IL (WLS) -- Bond was set at $1 million for a Roberto Almeida, 41, who is accused of sexually assaulting children he met through his church.

Police launched an investigation after a young man accused Almeida of sexually abusing him as a child. Almeida met his victim while volunteering as a church mentor, officials said.

Almeida is charged with four felony counts, including Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse of a Child. He appeared in court on January 21, 2015.
