Salvage work continues on sunken Chicago River barge

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Coast Guard is restricting water traffic on the Chicago River to allow crews to salvage a sunken barge.

Vessels are able to transit through single-file between the Lake and Randolph Street bridges.

The construction barge split and sank on Friday afternoon.

It was loaded with about 750 yards of clay dirt. There were no injuries or hazards to the river.
