CHICAGO -- Since last week's terror attack on Canada's Parliament, the ABC7 Eyewitness News I-Team has been looking into potential "lone wolf" attacks in the United States.

Monday, United States Senator Mark Kirk held a field hearing on the work of ISIS and the terrorist threat faced here in Chicago.

The panel included political scientists and security experts. One panelist says Chicago could be a target based on it being the hometown of President Barack Obama.

"They often times talk about Chicago as being Obama town. And absolutely Senator, we face, not an existential threat from Isis but we face a significant threat that could disrupt our way of life in Chicago and across the country," said Dr. Khalil Marrar, Governors State University.

Senator Kirk said he would like the U.S. to increase the number of daily airstrikes against ISIS in both Iraq and Syria.
