Shooting on Eisenhower Expressway ramp leaves 1 injured

CHICAGO (WLS) -- One person was injured in a shooting on an Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) exit ramp on Chicago's West Side Friday afternoon.

The inbound lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway were closed for one hour at Independence as Illinois State Police investigated the shooting.

Illinois State Police responded to a report of shots fired on the exit ramp to Western Avenue from eastbound I-290 around 12:30 p.m.

One victim was taken to a local hospital in "stable" condition, police said.

Police said the Western Avenue exit ramp will remain closed as they continue to investigate.
