Shots fired at Pace bus on I-290 near Independence
Investigators are searching for the person who shot at a Pace bus on the inbound Eisenhower Expressway just before the Independence exit.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Investigators are searching for the person who shot at a Pace bus on the inbound Eisenhower Expressway just before the Independence exit.

Illinois State Police said someone opened fire on the bus around 11 p.m. Wednesday. There were passengers on board. The bus serves the elderly and people with disabilities.

One woman was taken to the hospital after she was injured by shattered glass. She is expected to be OK.

State police have learned that the gun used to shoot at the bus was a BB gun.
