CHICAGO (WLS) -- All lanes of the outbound Dan Ryan Expressway between 47th and 63rd streets were temporarily shut down overnight as Illinois State Police investigated a shooting.

Investigators said around 1:45 a.m. Monday, state police were notified that a car has been struck by bullets in the local lanes of the outbound Dan Ryan near 47th. The driver was not hurt.

Troopers did not find shell casings during their search. All lanes reopened around 3 a.m.

There is no word yet of a motive in this case. No one is in custody.

State police have beefed up patrols in an effort to curb an increasing number of expressway shootings in the area.

But just last week, 39-year-old Steven Hudson was fatally shot on I-57 near Calumet Park. The gunman in that shooting has not been found.
