Skydiver seriously injured after landing in tree near Ottawa

OTTAWA, Ill. (WLS) -- A skydiver is in serious condition after he landed in a tree Monday afternoon in the city of Ottawa in LaSalle County.

Curtis Kmiecek, 59, was jumping with a group of skydivers when he fell onto the tree near Route 71.

The other skydivers got him down and firefighters from nearby Marseilles airlifted him to a hospital.
