WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (WLS) -- One of the two girls charged in the "Slender Man" attack is changing her plea to not guilty by reason of insanity.

The two were in court for the first time since a Wisconsin state appeals court upheld the order to charge them as adults.

They were 12 years old when prosecutors say they tried to kill a classmate as a tribute to the fictional character "Slender Man."

If convicted, the two girls could face 45 years in prison.

The case could go to trial in the spring.
