CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are warning residents about a number of robberies at homes and garages during the month of October in Garfield Park, Near West Side and Austin.
Three districts released information on the burglaries in the 15th and 12th District. Officials said the cases are under investigation. They have not said if any of the robberies are linked.
Incident times and locations in Garfield Park:
3000 Block of W. Washington Blvd. on October 21, 2014 during the daytime hours.
2600 Block of W. Warren Blvd. on October 21, 2014 during the daytime hours.
2900 Block of W. Washington Blvd. on October 21, 2014 during the daytime hours.
2600 Block of W. Warren Blvd. on October 22, 2014 during the evening hours.
3000 Block of W. Fulton Blvd. on October 26, 2014 during the morning hours.
Incident times and locations on Near West Side:
0-100 Block of S. Laflin St. on October 21, 2014 during the daytime hours.
1500 Block of W. Monroe St. between October 21 and 23, 2014.
0-100 Block of S. Laflin St. on October 24, 2014 during the morning hours.
Incident times and locations in Austin neighborhood:
600 block of North Lamon. on October 17, 2014 at approximately 6:40 P.M.
900 block of North Laramie on October 19, 2014 at approximately 6:20 A.M.
700 block of North LeClaire on October 27, 2014 at approximately 10:30 A.M.
What you can do:
Keep the perimeter of your property well lit
Report suspicious activity immediately
Keep doors and windows secured
Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks
If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for
investigating detectives.
If you are a victim do not touch anything, call police immediately
