TINLEY PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- The memory of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Michael Sutter lives on in a park named after him.

His friends and loved ones cut at a ribbon on the land next to the Bettenhausen Recreation Center in Tinley Park.

Sutter died in December 2003 while trying to defuse an explosive device in Iraq.

The park dedication was the result of a petition drive that started after Sutter died.
