United flight from London to Chicago diverts to Scotland

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A United Airlines flight from London to Chicago made an emergency landing in Edinburgh, Scotland.

UA929 diverted early Tuesday morning because of a "mechanical issue," an airline spokesperson said. Inspectors are checking out the plane.

There were 119 passengers and 11 crew members on board. No one was hurt.

The flight was scheduled to arrive in Chicago around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, the spokesperson said.
