VALPARAISO, Ind. (WLS) -- The city of Valparaiso, Ind., is moving its historic railroad depot to a new home across the railroad tracks.

The Grand Trunk Railroad Depot was built in 1912. Crews are moving it to the Porter County Career and Tech Center, where students will restore the building and turn it into a classroom and laboratory.

Maneuvering the 3,000-square foot building over the tracks took all day Monday. It should be settled in its new spot on Tuesday.
