The man, who has not been identified, was said to be awake and alert as he was taken to an area hospital. A horse that also apparently took a tumble is expected to be OK.

"The wagon driver has been treated by RodeoHouston sports medicine and transported to the hospital for further examination," said VP and COO of Rodeo Houston Dan Cheney. "The horse went out of the arena on its own power. The horse was inspected by a board certified veterinarian and is expected to make a full recovery. It has been treated and released back to its owner"

At this point, we don't know the condition of the driver.
