W. Va. man arrested for keeping deer in his home

CHARLESTON, W. Va. (WLS) -- West Virginia Natural Resources Police arrested and charged a man with holding two deer captive inside his home in Cabell County, according to a post on their Facebook page.

The post says two NRP officers were on their way to boat patrol duties when they received a complaint of deer being kept inside a home. After responding to the complaint, officers found two bucks that had been living inside the home for at least a year.

According to the post, the man has been charged and prosecution is pending. The deer have been set free. It is illegal in West Virginia to confine wildlife or secure them in an area where they are not able to roam free or come and go as they please, the NRP says.
