Woman shot through window of South Side home, officials say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 76-year-old woman was shot several times through a window in her home in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood.

Police said someone fired shots outside her house in the 7200-block of South Sangamon Street around 6:55 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim was shot in the chest, hand and buttocks. She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where her condition stabilized.

Police are investigating the shooting. No one is in custody.
