Worker trapped under heavy equipment at Bedford Park plant

BEDFORD PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- Emergency crews rescued a worker trapped under heavy equipment at a Bedford Park plant.

Two ambulances, a fire engine and several other emergency crews were sent to the company in the 6300-block of 73rd Street around 11 a.m. Friday. Bedford Park officials have not released details, but initial reports were that the worker was trapped under 3,000 pounds of collapsed shelving.

A man on a stretcher was brought out of the building around 11:45 and transferred to a medical helicopter. The extent of injuries is not known.
