CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Park District is investigating a confrontation between a cyclist and a security guard on the 606 which was caught on video and posted to Instagram.

In the video, which was taken by the biker, a cyclist yells at Park District Security for driving on the trail. Things quickly escalate. The officers speed past, one of them reaching out the window as they try to cut the cyclist off.

The encounter is alarming to many 606 users.

"Shock and disappointment that you'd bring that to a family-oriented space," said Alexis Macino, who was walking on the 606.

"Ridiculously aggressive. That's it. Lost your temper, behaved with authority," said Tim Wright, who was bicycling on the 606.

The 606, which was built on a former elevated train line, is exclusive to bikers, joggers and pedestrians. The trail's website emphasizes safety and courtesy.

The Park District said authorized vehicles are allowed on the trail, but said it is investigating the incident.

"If you're a cyclist, kind of give way to security. And if you're security, have a bit thicker skin," said Morgan Cox, who was walking on the 606.

ABC 7 Eyewitness News reached out to that cyclist for comment but did not hear back. According to his Instagram post, the confrontation ended with him stopping his bike and riding off in the other direction.
