The 23rd Annual Barkapalooza Dog Walkathon and Expo is coming to Lisle.

LISLE, Ill. (WLS) -- The 23rd Annual Barkapalooza Dog Walkathon and Expo is coming on September 25, 2016 at Lisle Community Park. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., people and their pets will enjoy food, fun, music, and receive a free goody bag for participating in the walk. Adult registration for the walk is $20, while children 12 and under may walk for free. The money raised benefits the West Suburban Humane Society (www.wshs-dg.org), which helps find families for homeless dogs and cats.

Animal lovers may also explore the Pet Expo at Barkapalooza, free of charge, where a wide variety of pet-focused vendors will be featured along with breed specific rescue groups of all sorts. A blessing for the animals will be given at 10:00 a.m. to kick off the event. There will also be agility demonstrations, clowns, face painting and more for the kids. Carolyn Mossberger, Executive Director for the West Suburban Humane Society, visited the ABC 7 State Street Studios to talk about the event, and a special friend she brought along to find a new home.
