Dog found safe after allegedly stolen from Chicago Heights shelter

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- A dog allegedly stolen from a humane society has been found safe and sound.

Chicago Heights police said two men and a woman were believed to have stolen a dog from the South Suburban Humane Society.

Surveillance photos of the alleged offenders were released by officials on Thursday.

The dog, a 10-month-old pit bull/Labrador mix named Cheeser, was taken from the shelter on Wednesday night, police said. Surveillance video shows the two men and a woman leaving with the dog in a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo with chrome rims.
