Dog survives 11-story fall from Florida high-rise

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WLS) -- A miracle dog survived an 11-story fall from a high-rise balcony in Florida.

Kimberly Bellinger brought 12-year-old Bonzo to visit her mom in West Palm Beach.

The Pekingese wandered out to the balcony, squeezed through the railings and plunged 120 feet onto the grass.

Bonzo only suffered a fractured rib. The vet said the fall may have disoriented him, so he was relaxed and not braced for impact and not tensed up.

Bellinger's father passed away unexpectedly this month. Her other dog also recently died. She said she is thankful Bonzo will be OK.

"I don't know if I could take it," Bellinger said. "I'm so grateful."
