CHICAGO (WLS) --Chicago Alderman Nicholas Sposato announced he will run for the 38th Ward. He currently represents Ward 36 on the city's Northwest Side.
However, Ward 36 as redrawn in 2012, and by 2014, about 45-percent of it will be part of the new 38th Ward.
He opened a new campaign office on Tuesday as he officially announced his candidacy.
"Today I am announcing my candidacy for Alderman of the 38th Ward," said Alderman Sposato (36).
"Our community is not defined by a number on a political map but by the people who live here," Alderman Sposato said. "Since you first elected me in 2011 we have accomplished so much and brought open accessible government to the northwest side of Chicago. With your support I will continue to represent you for the next 4 years."
