Jim Thompson, former Illinois governor, to retire from law firm

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The law firm Winston and Strawn announced Tuesday that for Illinois governor Jim Thompson will leave in January of next year.

During his 25 years there, Thompson helped expand the firm's offices around the world.

The former governor will stay on as a consultant for two years after he retires.
