CHICAGO -- Governor Pat Quinn and other state lawmakers are pushing to raise the minimum wage in Illinois.

The governor was joined by Senator Dick Durbin and Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky.

Quinn says families working full-time should not be living in poverty and the state needs to raise the minimum wage in order to grow the economy.

A referendum to raise the minimum wage will be on the ballots in November.
