Gov. Quinn signs women's health bill

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Gov. Pat Quinn has signed new bill addressing women's health.

The referendum gives voters a chance to make their views known on whether prescription insurance programs should be required to include birth control in Illinois.

That question will be included on the November ballot.

The action is a response to the Supreme Court ruling in the Hobby Lobby case in which the justices ruled birth control can be excluded from employer-provided prescription drug coverage if that coverage is in opposition to the employer's religious beliefs.
